│INTRODUCTION├─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
└────────────┘
Ever try editing small graphic images? Although there are a countless
number of paint/draw programs very few seem to support an option where
you can work on the image in a "magnified" mode. MagniPaint is just for
that purpose, no need to squint your eyes anymore when working with small
images.
MagniPaint is capable of handling graphics up to 100x100 pixels in 16 or
256 colors. You can SAVE/LOAD your images in the popular PCX format or
BMP/ICO formats used by MS Windows programs. We've also added a new format
for creating RIP icons.
If you're looking to edit larger images than JDRAW might be for your,
refer to registration portion of this text for more info.

│REQUIREMENTS├─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
└────────────┘
IBM Compatible Machine
Mouse (MicroSoft compatible, this includes mouse and driver)
VGA/SVGA card (SVGA card needed for 256 colors)
DOS 3.3 or higher (or any Compatible DOS)
Although every effort has been made to insure that MagniPaint will
function correctly on a wide variety of PC Compatibles many factors
stand in the way.
1) Mouse drivers - please use an updated mouse driver. If your
mouse is MicroSoft compatible you can probably use the latest
MicroSoft mouse drivers. If all fails try running MagniPaint with
the /ME switch, this will emulate mouse drawing that is normally
done by the mouse driver. If MagniPaint can't detect that you have a
mouse connected to your system try using the /NM switch.
MP /ME - emulate mouse pointer
MP /NM - skip mouse detection
MP /ME /NM
2) SVGA cards - if your having problems with MagniPaint, you're probably
having problems with other programs as well. Your SVGA card is not
as compatible as can be. Try executing MagniPaint using the /NV
switch. Also try and locate a VESA driver for your SVGA card if
possible.
MP /NV - skip video check.
3) OS2/WINDOWS - MagniPaint should executed from DOS. There are too many
factors that can cause MagniPaint not to function under these
operating systems. If you can't see the mouse pointer try executing
MagniPaint with the /ME switch.
MP /ME - emulate mouse pointer

│GETTING STARTED├──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
└───────────────┘
If you have not yet tried the program please try it now. This will allow
you to get a better understanding for the proceeding information. Who
knows, you might not even have to read any further.
The MagniPaint display is divided into five areas, the top left corner
contains the actual size image of the icon, the far right contains a
zoom image of the icon, the lower left contains a box with the 'MP'
letters, above that is the tool box, and at the lower right is the color
box. All drawing and editing are done in the zoom area.
┌──────────────────────┐
│SELECTING FILE FORMATS├───────────────────────────────────────────────────
└──────────────────────┘
This has been the number one problem users of earlier version have
encountered so lets get it out of the way first. Unlike other programs
that let you select the format by simply changing the extension in the
filename we decided to stick to the tradition of making software difficult
to use. Some users even thought that they had to register to use the other
formats besides PCX. OK here's the secret, select the OPEN/SAVE gadget
using the RIGHT mouse button, and select the appropriate format.
OK go back and read that again, you will notice it says RIGHT MOUSE
BUTTON, not the left, not the middle, but the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON.
The real reason for having the file formats this way is so you can
add what ever extension you wish to the filename. Its not really meant
to make things complicated, its just the way things turn out sometimes.
┌─────────────────┐
│SELECTING COLORS ├────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
└─────────────────┘
To select a color move the mouse pointer in color box area, point to
one of the colors and press the left mouse button. That's it, that's all
you have to do to select a color!
┌───────────────┐
│SELECTING TOOLS├──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
└───────────────┘
To select any of the tools move the mouse pointer in the tool box area,
point to one of the tools and press the LEFT mouse button.
